Biography

Chris has always loved art. She recalls her first experience as an artist when she was a youth attending summer activities at a park in her hometown of Marion Ohio. Along with other kids she created posters to promote an upcoming parade. Her talent was recognized by the adult volunteers, and that energized her interest. She studied at Columbus College of Art and Design and received a Bachelors degree in Advertising Design from Bowling Green State University. Her professional career was in advertising and graphic design. It was many years later when she fulfilled her desire for fine art. In 2012 she started using the pastel medium. Having grown up in a rural landscape along the Scioto River, her love for the outdoors grew tremendously. She has always been fascinated by the beauty of nature and enjoys painting landscapes, sometimes creating her art en plein air. She paints a variety of subjects and welcomes challenges. Now retired, she continues to work in pastels and also likes to use watercolors. As a member of a couple of local art groups, Chris has the opportunity to show her work and has been recognized with honors.​
