Alpana Dhond

Alpana is a self-taught artist who started painting as a hobby after leaving a 9-5 job. She was introduced to soft pastels at an art workshop in Michigan where she lived at the time and fell in love with them. From then on, she kept learning and painting. Selling her first painting to a friend gave her huge inspiration and enthusiasm to get better at her art. The isolation during the pandemic allowed plenty of time to practice and learn.

Some Milestones: Displayed paintings with other artists at a cafe in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Displayed paintings in a juried art show in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Had her solo show at the Art Gallery of Westlake Public Library, Westlake, OH. Participated with a booth in an Art Festival organized by Rotary Club and The City of Westlake in Westlake, OH. Entered in a juried art competition organized by Westshore Art Council in August 2023 and won a First prize and an honorable mention for two of her paintings. Sold few paintings at the solo show and art festival.
